Our Family Homepages

We moved here to South Woodham Ferrers in August 2011 from Wymondham,Norfolk, where we had lived for about five years or so. Life in Wymondham was very pleasant, quaint and tranquil, but it was a town which seemed to be going nowhere,in fact it seemed to be suspended in a time warp, stuck perpetually in the past. People in Wymondham although very pleasant in manner didn`t really want to get to know you at all. So we decided that it was time to move back to Essex our `home` county,in an to attempt to rekindle old aquaintences and family.
So here we are in South Woodham Ferrers,a small but bustling commuter town,in the rolling countryside of Essex. Where life is also very pleasant for everyone living here. We decided to rebuild our family website "bobshomepages" so that other family members who are living elsewhere in the UK and abroad are able to keep in touch with us (if they so wish).

Our Town

firefox South Woodham Ferrers is a relatively small commuter town in south-east Essex, with a population of about 17,500. The town is sited between two tidal creeks to the east and west and the River Crouch to the south. South Woodham Ferrers is noted for its architecture which is an attempt to construct modern buildings in the Essex vernacular. South Woodham Ferrers is situated on a main railway line from Liverpool Street and can be reached in about 1 hour.

Some information used, was supplied from the book
"South Woodham Ferrers. (A Pictorial History)
